    Please include some if not all in your submission
    and please ensure that your submission DOES NOT EXCEED 2500 words.
    Please feel to attach an additional information ( eg testimonials ).

    If you are a business owner/entrepreneur :

    • Why did you start your business ?
    • Describe your journey to date including challenges that you may have encountered. Please include sales turnover and profit levels in your answer.
    • What makes your product/service/business so different to your competitors?
    • What contribution, if any, does your business make to its local community ?
    • What are the future projections and vision for your employees - please include projected turnover, profits and recruitment of staff?

    For Businessperson of the year

    1. What role has the nominee played in growing the organisation they work in? This could be measured in terms of turnover, billing hours, profit or similar KPI’s.
    2. How has the nominee encouraged a talent pipeline and what role have they played in encouraging others to excel?
    3. How active is the nominee in playing a role outside of the organisation – this could be roles in charities, sitting as a trustee or general stakeholder engagement?
    4. How instrumental has the nominee being in bringing in innovation and change into their organisation?
    5. How has their leadership been instrumental in the business experiencing growth?

    For community excellence:

    This could be an individual or organisation:

    1. What impact has the organisation/individual had in their community – is this impact measurable?
    2. Describe what this activity looks like?
    3. IN the case of an individual – why did this individual pursue this activity and what was their reason for doing so?

    Promoting Apprenticeships:

    1. Why did the organisation pursue employing apprenticeships – is it part of their business strategy?
    2. How many apprenticeships do they employ every year?
    3. What value does apprenticeships bring to their organisation and how is their impact measured?
    4. What steps do you take to ensure that they (the apprenticeships) are fulfilling their potential?
    5. Give examples of how the business ensures that the role of apprenticeships is embedded in the business?
