Guidelines for completing nomination form (2,500 words max)

For category 1 – Start up Business of the year

Describe your product/service
Explain why you chose this sector/industry – what are your unique offerings ?

For category 2

How has the person / organisation grown its profits and turnover over the last 36 months?
What contributions do they make to their community?
What is the future vision / strategy for the organisation?
How does the nominee / organisation seek to differentiate itself from the competition?
Describe how the business has been innovative in its approach to the marketplace and its approach to improving productivity and quality ?

For categories 3,4 and 10 please follow the following guidelines

Describe the journey of the individual and what challenges they overcame and evaluate their achievements in the context of their industry/sector.
Finally, in completing the nomination, please articulate why the nominee has proven to be the best in their chosen industry – what makes them a clear achiever?
Describe how the nominee has contributed to their industry beyond what would be expected from their daily activities
Has the nominee undertaken activities outside of their working hours to contribute to their local community or organisation?

For category 5 – International Business of the Year

Describe your service/product and why you chose to enter international markets
What is the size of your international trade and what percentage of it is in terms of your total sales ?
What challenges did you overcome and what is the potential for future growth ?

For category 6 – Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion

Evidence of how an organisation has embraced diversity and inclusion as part of their overall business strategy. The organisation needs to show diversity and inclusion in practice and how their strategy has benefited the organisation and the impact it has had on its bottom line and culture.

For category 7 – Excellence in Promoting Apprenticeships

For the category of Excellence in Promoting Apprenticeships, we are keen to hear from employers who regard the employment of apprenticeships as a key strategic goal for the overall success of their business and how they have integrated apprenticeships into the workplace.

For category 8 – Excellence in Customer Service

Describe your product/service.
Size of organisation and sector.
What steps has the organisation taken to improve customer service and how is this evidenced ?

For category 9 - Community Excellence

What has the individual or organisation undertaken to the benefit of their community ? Please detail what these activities are and how the community within which they operate in have benefited from these activities – please provide evidence either with testimonials or data which shows a level of impact. Explain the reasons behind the initiation of these activities. These activities may or may not be related to COVID – both are acceptable.

For category 11 : Excellence in Technology/Innovation

Describe your product/service and what makes it different from the competition ?
What problem does it solve ?
What are the long term projections in terms of turnover and profit ( even if the business is in pre-revenue) and what is its long term vision ?
How central is technology to the business ?
How have you used technology to innovate your business ?

For categories 12 and 13 please follow the following guidelines

Describe the range of service you offer.
What have the billings/turnover been for the last three years and how did you cope with COVID-19 ?
How do you differentiate yourself from the competition ?
Describe your culture and your contribution towards your local community and what your future plans for the business.
